Menstrual cramps (Dysmenorrhea)
To feel excessive pain during menstruation is called Menstrual cramps (Dysmenorrhea). That means feeling excessive pain. Menstrual cramps (Dysmenorrhea) are seen at least or most in more than half of the women. In fact this situation is the apprehension of uterus spasm derived to keep under control the bleeding as pain.
Menstruation pain is felt in the bottom of abdomen and in crotches. Bitter waist and headaches are indications seen with the pain. Women, who have menstruation pain, have also complaints like vomiting, nausea, constipation or diarrhea or tiredness.
Menstruation pain starts generally 24 hours before the menstruation starts. Pain increases its intensity for a short period of time. On the first's day of the menstruation, it is more acute. And this pain is getting lighter until the end of the period slowly.
You can prevent this excessive menstruation pain that we called Menstrual cramps (Dysmenorrhea) by taking some precautions at least. Before and during the menstruation period, tea, coffee and cola should be avoided. It is also beneficial to make massage to the painful part of the body. It should be known that menstruation pain is seen mostly among the people who are very tired or very nervous.
For this reason, relaxing is important and exhausting activities and stress should be avoided.
Especially, it is beneficial for the women who suffer from constipation to consume fibrous foods and avoid from cigarette and alcohol.
